Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
This trip along Florida’s Gulf Coast is perhaps the most scenic of the five itineraries. You will experience great baseball and great beaches, breathtaking views and coconut palms. You’ll visit five ballparks and get to see two of the marquee teams in their Spring Training homes. When you’re not at the ballpark, you’ll have your choice of activities and attractions ranging from golf and fishing to shopping, museums, and sunbathing on some of Florida’s nicest beaches.
Flexibility: Plan ahead to make sure the game schedules work before you finalize your travel dates. You can easily switch around days two, three, and four, which are all in the Fort Myers area. You can also switch days five and six, which are near Sarasota. But it will be hard to switch in any other way. Also, get your Red Sox and Yankees tickets as soon as you can, preferably in early January. Tip: This itinerary calls for flying into Fort Myers and out of Tampa. If you prefer to fly in and out of the same airport, book a night flight for your return to allow time for the 130-mile or so drive back to the airport on Day Seven. Either way, rent a car with unlimited mileage. Continue Reading Itinerary Four Didn't find what you were looking for? Try a Google search.
