Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
While this trip involves more driving than any of the other four itineraries, it may be the most rewarding. You’ll be visiting the five towns with the longest histories of hosting the same team. You’ll visit the shrine of Spring Training, Dodgertown, along with the newest stadium in the League in Clearwater. You’ll get a taste of Canada and a taste of small town Florida. If you have the time, you can add a day to explore the Gulf Coast and make this an eight-day trip (see below).
Flexibility: It is essential to check the game schedules for these five ballparks well in advance - say in late December or early January — so that you can time your visit for a seven-day stretch when the itinerary will work as laid out. The only days you can easily switch are five and six, because this itinerary takes you on a long loop across the state and does not allow time for doubling back and forth. You start and end at Orlando International Airport. Tip: Get a rental car with unlimited mileage. Continue Reading Itinerary Two Didn't find what you were looking for? Try a Google search.
