Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
It’s time to visit the shrine of Spring Training, Dodgertown, the place where modern Spring Training began. Dodgertown is the oldest Spring Training complex in Florida. Holman Stadium was built there in 1953 and the Dodgers have trained in it ever since. You’ll want to spend most of the day here, walking the practice fields and taking in the atmosphere. So get up early, get a bite to eat, and plan to arrive around 9:30 a.m.
Spend the morning walking around the practice fields and observing the players. Then, sometime between 11:00 and noon, position yourself near the stadium so that you can catch the players as they walk to the stadium from the practice fields. If you’re standing nearby, you’ll have great opportunities to get autographs and opportunities to talk to some of baseball’s great players. The game itself starts at 1:00 p.m. Get yourself a Dodger Dog from the concession stand before you head for your seat. It’s one of baseball’s great treats. After the game, get the fixings for a picnic and eat it on the beach. Enjoy the evening. Continue Reading Itinerary Two Didn't find what you were looking for? Try a Google search.
