Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
Arrive at Orlando International Airport, rent your car, and take the Beeline Expressway (SR 528) east to I-95. Take I-95 south to Vero Beach. It’s about an hour and a half drive from the airport.
Note: The Beeline Expressway is a toll road, so be prepared to ante up. It’s the fastest and only convenient route from the airport to I-95. Stay at one of the hotels on the beach and enjoy the sand and water. A fantastic option is Disney’s Vero Beach Resort (9250 Island Grove Terrace, US A1A, Vero Beach; 772-234-2180). It’s a time-share but it accepts overnight guests. (Best to book ahead, of course). Wrap up the day with a leisurely evening stroll down the beach, which has yet to be spoiled by the development found in most other Florida coastal communities.
