Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
The Toronto Blue Jays’ program ranks above average. While it could use more articles and a numerical roster of players, I give it high marks for its content. It has a seating chart, which is needed here. It has instructions on how to keep score, although they are not very detailed. It has mug shots of every player along with a brief biography and the player’s previous-season and career stats. Perhaps the most impressive feature of the program I bought was a pullout brochure on the town of Dunedin. This quaint town has a lot to offer and the brochure had a list of every business establishment, along with a walking map of the route from the stadium to downtown — about a 15-minute stroll if you don’t stop to shop, browse, or eat. Everyone should know that Spring Training means economic development for the host town. Dunedin is capitalizing on that better than any other community in the Grapefruit League. Unfortunately, this insert is not always included, but you may be able to pick one up at the park. Ask for it if you don’t see it. This program is a good buy.
