Ferry service: Daily on the hour from 10:00 a.m., last return at 4:30 p.m.
Fare (round trip): Adults $9, Children (4 to 12) $5.50 (no credit cards).
Reached via a half hour ferry ride from Honeymoon Island, Caladesi Island boasts one of America’s best beaches — three miles of white sand — plus a three-mile nature trail, a kids’ playground, shaded picnic areas, concessions, and changing facilities with showers. You can stay on Caladesi Island up to four hours. The ferry is at the west end of Dunedin Causeway, at the end of SR 586.
Note: Honeymoon Island is itself a state recreation area, with swimming, sunbathing, nature trails, bird observation areas, and concessions. It is open daily 8:00 a.m. to sundown.

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Closed Monday unless it’s a legal holiday.

Look and listen for nocturnal creatures on this two-hour walk with a park guide The park offers an environmental and energy education center along with a lake, upland forest, wetlands, and lots of native plant and animal species. A one-mile nature trail winds through the park. The Interpretive Center features wildlife exhibits, displays, and information.
Note: The park has Night Hikes on the second Wednesday of every month. They start at 7:00 p.m. in March. The fee for these guided two-hour walks is $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for children 3 to 12.
