St. Petersburg Pier
on the waterfront at the end of Second Avenue Northeast; www.stpete-pier.com
Come here to eat, shop, rent a bike, fish, hop a sightseeing cruise, or visit an aquarium. In addition to the pier, you’ll find “The Pier,” a five-story complex housing restaurants, shops, galleries, and an observation deck.
Salvador Dali Museum

Hours: Monday to Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Thursday to 8:00 p.m.), Sunday noon to 5:30 p.m.
Admission: Adults $15, Seniors (65+) $13.50, Students (10+) $10, Children (5 to 9) $4.
The largest collection of Salvador Dali art outside of Spain. It takes a couple of hours to tour the permanent collection, which includes the bulk of Dali’s most popular works.
John's Pass Village & Boardwalk

Billing itself as a “quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village,” this large shopping, dining, and entertainment complex is also home to a large commercial and charter fishing fleet, as well as sightseeing cruise operators. Its boardwalk provides a scenic view of the waterfront.
Great Explorations, The Children's Museum

Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday noon to 4:30 p.m., closed holidays.
Cost: General Admission $9, Seniors $8
Exhibits here invite kids to be active. Among the options: a climbing wall and a raceway where young visitors can build a tabletop race car from motor to axle and then race their vehicle on a slot car-type track.
BayWalk Entertainment Center
153 Second Avenue North, St. Petersburg; 727-895-9277
This 150,000 square foot shopping, dining, and entertainment complex in downtown St. Pete includes a 20-screen multiplex.
Derby Lane

Hours: Monday to Saturday, January to mid June. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., post at 7:30 p.m., and Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday gates open at 11:30 a.m., post at 12:30 p.m.
Admission: $1
Greyhounds race here nightly, except Sunday, during Spring Training season. General parking is free, or let the valet do it for $3. There’s an all-you-can-eat buffet nightly (reservations suggested). If you tire of the dogs, you can play cards in T.L.’s Card Room till midnight.
Note: You must be 12 or older to enter and 18 or older for admission to the card room.
