Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
With the exception of Cracker Jack Stadium at Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports Complex, this is probably the most entertaining park in the Grapefruit League. Every time a Met comes to bat, they blast music. There is a contest before nearly every inning. They even go so far as to shoot t-shirts into the stands for fans to catch. They also have lots of special days with giveaways. The day I was there, it was bobble heads. Now many places give away bobble heads to, say, the first thousand fans. Here they gave everyone a ticket with one of four Mets stars’ names on it. They then pulled one of the tickets and every fan with that player’s name got a bobble head. That meant any family or group of four or more was guaranteed to get at least one free bobble head.
