Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
That said, there are plenty of pleasant surprises in this park. For instance, the food is some of the best in the Grapefruit League. There are lots of options in addition to the traditional baseball fare of hot dogs, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks, including healthy meal options (which may strike some fans as downright subversive). There is a little sit-down bar hidden at the end of the main concourse on the third base side where you can get almost any kind of beer you would want, imported or domestic. To catch a glimpse of your favorite stars, you can go up to the second level of the stadium on the third base side and watch the practice field, the bullpen, and other sites. It’s a nice view.
Still, the stadium as a whole fails to capture the essence of Spring Training. If you want that, you need to spend the extra money and go to City of Palms Park in downtown Fort Myers. At Bill Hammond Stadium, you’re teased with beauty outside only to find an average stadium within. Didn't find what you were looking for? Try a Google search.
