Fort Myers is home to two Spring Training stadiums. So many of the offerings below will also be found in Chapter 4: Boston Red Sox – City of Palms Park. I repeat them here so that you don’t have to flip back and forth in the book. The county’s official tourism site is www.leeislandcoast.com.

The Big M Casino

Hours: Sails Tuesday to Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Cost: Morning cruise $10, Evening cruise $10, except Friday and Saturday $20
This luxurious gaming yacht offers Las Vegas-style casino gambling on its two daily sailings from Moss Marine on Fort Myers Beach. A buffet and a la carte dining are extra. Adults only, reservations required.

Edison-Ford Winter Estates

Hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., last tour at 4:00 p.m.; Sunday noon to 5:30 p.m., last tour at 4:00 p.m. and last river cruise at 3:00 p.m.
Admission: Adults $20, Children (6 to 12) $11, Family Package $40. (Lower price options that limit visits to certain areas are also available.)
Tour the winter homes of Thomas Edison and his neighbor and friend Henry Ford. Tours include Edison’s lab, both homes, and a river cruise.

Imaginarium Hands-On Museum

Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday noon to 5:00 p.m.
Admission: Adults $8, Seniors (55+) $7, Children (3 to 12) $5
Hands-on exhibits, including a hurricane simulator and fossil dig, along with aquatic exhibits such as a 550-gallon coral reef tank and a 190-gallon fresh water lagoon. “Hands-On Fun Shows” at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Mike Greenwells Family Fun Park

35 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral; 239-574-4386
Hours: Sunday to Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to midnight
Admission: Free; cost of rides and activities varies
Former Red Sox outfielder, Mike Greenwell, owns this amusement center. It offers a fish feeding dock, a mega-maze, miniature golf, and batting cages.
