Like many of the smaller Spring Training communities, Vero Beach does not have a lot of attractions outside of baseball and outdoor recreation. It is baseball, the beach, and little else. Still, there are a few other things to do. Vero Beach Train Station

2336 14th Avenue, Vero Beach; 772-778-3435
Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admisson: Free.
Built in 1903, the station now houses the Indian River County Historical Society.

Vero Beach Museum of Art

3001 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach; 772-231-0707
Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m., Sunday 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Admission: General admission is free; donations accepted. Fees vary for special events and exhibits.
Offers art exhibitions and a sculpture garden.

Indian River Citrus Museum/Heritage Center

2140 14th Avenue, Vero Beach; 772-770-2263
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission: Free
The artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia of the citrus pioneers of Indian River County can be found here.

The Sebastian Fishing Museum

Sebastian Inlet State Recreation Area, 9700 South A1A, Melbourne Beach; 772-388-2750
Hours: Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission: Museum free, state park fees apply (772-589-2750 for park information)
Located on the south side of Sebastian Inlet State Park, the museum focuses on the history of Sebastian’s fishing industry and its pioneers.

Environmental Learning Center

255 Live Oak Drive, Wabasso Causeway, Vero Beach; 772-589-5050
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to noon, Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission: Free
FThis nature center on Wabasso Island offers a hands-on approach to investigating the environment. You can walk through a mangrove forest, a butterfly garden, wet labs, and more. It offers one-hour tours on weekdays.
