Florida Spring Training: Your Guide To Touring The Grapefruit League |
One of the best things about the Fort Lauderdale ballpark is the smell as you enter the stadium. The main entrance leads into the concession area and on each side of this area are two large barbeque cookers. Most of the stadium’s hot dogs and burgers are cooked right here, which makes them tastier than at many parks. The cheeseburgers are especially good — thick and juicy. While the food selection is limited, it includes tasty slushies, milkshakes, and soft ice cream served in miniature baseball helmets. There is a long line for the single ice cream stand. Note: In many stadiums, you can buy a bottle of water and then refill it at the water faucets. When I’ve done that here, the water from the faucet was always a light tan color. However, management tells me that problem will be fixed before the first ball is tossed out in Spring Training 2007. You may want to give it a try before investing in several bottles of water.
