Kelly says: Aimed squarely at the kids
Just opposite the Universe Theater is another show venue, this one showcasing a half-hour of up-tempo silliness hosted by two twenty-something rocket scientists, one of whom is just a little madder than the other.
Using a variety of props, gimmicks, audience volunteers, and an animated 3-D floating robot named WD-4D (get it?), the two provide an overview of the serious science behind a hoped-for mission to explore the Red Planet. There’s even a hip-hop rendition of Newton’s Laws of Motion. It’s virtually incomprehensible, of course, but it is mildly diverting which, I suppose, is the point. The kids love it.
