If you’ve never seen an IMAX film, this is an excellent place to remedy that situation. IMAX is an ultra-large film format, ten times larger than standard 35mm film and three times the size of the 70mm films you see at your local movie theater. It is projected on a screen some five and a half stories high and 70 feet wide. The sound system is equally impressive, producing bass tones you will feel in your bones.
The IMAX Theater at the Visitor Complex contains two back-to-back IMAX theaters, the only such IMAX “multiplex” in the world. The auditoriums are small relative to the size of the screen, so I would recommend showing up early so you can grab a seat towards the back of the house. There are doors on five levels and I find the seats in the middle of the third level to be just about ideal.
