Kennedy Space Center - Getting There

The easiest way to reach KSC from Orlando is to get on the Bee Line Expressway (SR 528) headed east. The tolls will set you back $2.75 each way but it’s the fastest route (about an hour or so). Turn off onto SR 407 North, and then onto SR 405 East, which will lead you directly to the Visitor Complex. You can also take SR 50 (Orlando’s East Colonial Drive) to route 405. It takes a bit longer but it’s free.

Once you get on SR 405, don’t be misled by the Astronaut Hall of Fame, which you will pass on the right. The main entrance to Kennedy Space Center is farther along, also on the right, and also graced with a life-size replica of the space shuttle. The Astronaut Hall of Fame is owned by KSC, but is a semi-separate attraction and is described in Chapter 11: Another Roadside Attraction.

Once you get to the KSC Visitor Complex, parking is provided free in lots with sections named after shuttle craft.
