There are three live shows at Gatorland, each presented several times a day, and they form the heart of the Gatorland experience. The shows let us get close - but not too close - to critters that alternately fascinate and repel us. Since alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles are a natural source of curiosity for most of us, it’s easy for these shows to jump right in and start answering our unasked questions about these scaly creatures. The result is that staple of the modern-day theme park: effortless “edutainment.” A group of about five young men and women, all Florida natives, takes turns starring in these exhibitions. They have mastered an easy, laid back, aw-shucks, country boy style that is most ingratiating. The humor - and there’s lots of it - is self-deprecating while at the same time letting us city slickers know who’s got the really cool job. These guys are the living embodiment of Gatorland and I think you’ll find it hard not to like them.
