This is a handsome restaurant with black and white marble squares on the floor, black and white tiles in the open kitchen, and brass accents throughout. The service is suave, attentive, and thoroughly Continental. The spacious but not overwhelming bar that greets you when you enter is a great place to wait for your table or to have an aperitif before dining.
Yes, it’s Italian, but the accent is most definitely on the steakhouse. You would be remiss if you ate here and didn’t try one of their superbly tender steak or chop offerings. In addition to the expected filet mignon (12 and 8 ounce servings), rib eye, and New York Strip, you will find lamb and pork chops and a veal loin steak. In true steakhouse fashion, they are accompanied by side dishes of perfectly prepared vegetables at prices that would get you an appetizer at other restaurants.
You will find Italian specialties among the appetizers, including fried calamari and mussels alla diavola. Italian entrees include such staples as chicken parmigiana, veal marsala, pizzas, and a variety of pasta creations. There is seafood as well, including lobster tail and giant prawns, served with the same sides as the meat.
The dessert menu includes the now trendy dessert-in-a-shot-glass concept, but you might be better off throwing caution to the winds and getting the chocolate bread pudding souffle with Jack Daniels sauce.
Capriccio Grill shares its wine list with Dux and offers some very thoughtful selections by the glass.
