Orlando's not a one-mouse town and this is the site that proves it! |
SeaWorld’s coolest up-close and personal experience takes daring visitors on a leisurely 30-minute underwater tour of the mammoth shark tank at the Shark Encounter attraction. Participants don a wet suit (provided by SeaWorld) and climb into a submerged shark cage that travels, very slowly, along a 125-foot track through the tank. Specially designed helmets allow you to breathe, and talk!, underwater, even if you are not scuba certified. Along the way, guests will be able to ogle (but not touch) the 50 plus sharks in the tank. Also on display, dimly glimpsed through the depths, will be the diners in the Sharks Underwater Grill restaurant. As you might have guessed, there is an additional charge for this attraction — $150 per person ($140 for silver and gold passholders, $135 for platinum). These prices include tax as well as a souvenir t-shirt and an informative booklet about sharks. Participants must be at least 10 years of age. Reservations are required — the ride only accommodates two people at a time — and can be made by calling (800) 406-2244 or (407) 363-2380. Reservations can also be made at the tour desk near the front entrance to the park. Didn't find what you were looking for? Try a Google search.
