“Love all. Serve all. Sell all a tchotchke.” That’s not really the Hard Rock motto, of course, but it’s hard to escape noticing that the Hard Rock empire must make as much money selling branded clothing, souvenirs, and memorabilia as it does selling burgers, shakes, and booze. So it’s fitting that the only shop is the coyly named Rock Shop just off the main lobby.
Most of the room in this spacious emporium is given over to souvenir clothing, from t-shirts to snazzy leather jackets with equally snazzy price tags. If you have arrived only to discover that your wardrobe isn’t what it should be, you can remedy that here. There are some suitably slinky dresses and beachwear for women. Somehow, the men’s clothing, while very nice, is rather staid, the kind of thing that would look great on the PGA tour.
There are some nice things for kids here, too, including black leather jackets and (I’m not making this up) Hard Rock Barbie. Almost as an afterthought, a corner of the shop is given over to a small selection of the sort of sundries you usually find in a hotel gift shop. You will have to head to Le Memorie di Portofino shop in Portofino Bay’s lobby for a larger selection.
