Wantilan is Indonesian for “gathering place” and at the outdoor Wantilan Terrace, on Saturday nights, the hotel gathers its guests together with that tried-and-true staple of warm weather tourism, a Hawaiian luau complete with roast suckling pig on your plate and Hawaiian hams on stage, but thankfully no poi.

The generous buffet meal starts with fruits and salads, continues with Lomi Lomi Chicken Salad, the “Catch of the Day,” Teriyaki Chicken, Flank Steak, and the aforementioned Pit-Roasted Suckling Pig, before wrapping up with a dessert station with goodies like White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pie and Chocolate Banana Cake. Wine, beer, mai tais, and soft drinks are included in the price and a cash bar is available. The entertainment is as rich and filling as the meal, featuring a medley of Polynesian song stylings and hula dancing.

This sort of thing is not to everyone’s taste, but there’s no denying its popularity. By my count, this makes the third luau-style dinner show in the Orlando area. There is a cancellation fee of $20 per person unless you cancel prior to noon on the day of the performance.
