Guest Laundry
Portofino Bay is apparently too posh for anything as down market as a coin laundry. You can either use the hotel’s laundry service or carry your dirty duds to the Hard Rock Hotel and use the facilities there.
Meetings and Banquets
The hotel has over 42,000 square feet of meeting space, ranging from the magnificent 15,000-square-foot Tuscan Ballroom, which can accommodate 1,280 for a sit-down dinner, to a sumptuous boardroom suite for 25. In addition to being beautifully appointed, with lavish hand-painted Italian murals, these facilities offer some of the most advanced telecommunications equipment available anywhere. That’s made the Portofino Bay Hotel one of the most sought-after meeting venues in Orlando. If you’d like to explore holding your next meeting at Portofino Bay, call Conference Management at (407) 503-1130.
Musica della Notte
Every night, weather permitting of course, the piazza at Portofino comes alive with the “music of the night.” Strolling musicians and classically trained singers appear on balconies and fill the night air with Italian favorites from opera, movies, and a cross-over style known as “popera,” which blends classic opera and pop. There is no charge for this spectacle and guests from other hotels and even non-guests are welcome to take a motor launch over to Portofino Bay to enjoy the show.
Parking
The parking here is well-hidden and covered, making self-parking a more attractive option than at the other hotels, which have open lots.
Weddings
Looking for a very special place to tie the knot? Portofino Bay has quickly become a favorite spot for Orlando’s discerning brides. There are two outdoor gazebos that, when adorned with flowers, make lovely wedding chapels. One is above the Villa Pool in a palazzo-like setting; the other is in a courtyard near the main ballrooms and just steps away from a majestic curving staircase that was seemingly custom-designed for bridal portraits. And Universal Orlando, with its panoply of diversions, makes a terrific honeymoon destination. Call (407) 503-1120 for more information.
