“Get a nightlife!” the ad campaign advises and this is most definitely the place to do that. CityWalk is a happening enclave of heavily themed restaurants, nightclubs, shops, and movie theaters that rocks long after the nearby theme parks have closed up for the night. Cynics might say it is Universal’s attempt to mimic Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney. But then again other cynics might point out that Pleasure Island was an attempt to mimic Orlando’s original sophisticated adult entertainment venue, the now-defunct Church Street Station. Who cares? The bottom line is Orlando has yet another top-notch entertainment district to satisfy its visitors’ seemingly bottomless appetite for things to do.
