What:
Large indoor cafeteria
Where: Across from the Caro-Seuss-El
Price Range: $
Under that enormous droopy big top is this humongous fast food emporium themed to a fare-thee-well with circus imagery a la Dr. Seuss. This is one of the most delightful restaurants in all of Islands of Adventure — clever, colorful, comfortable, and imaginative as all get out.
To one side are two complete cafeteria lines; to the other a series of booths disguised as a circus train transporting a weird variety of Seuss creatures, like the Amazing Atrocious, “a beast most ferocious.” In between is a spacious seating area under the twin big tops from which swing a nutty trapeze artist and a spinning mobile of Seuss characters. Periodically, a train from the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride chugs by overhead bearing a load of happy passengers.
The food is designed with kids in mind, which means personal-size pizzas, both pepperoni and cheese, and various pasta dishes served with bread sticks (all about $6 to $8). Grown-ups might prefer the Chicken Caesar Salad or the Fried Chicken Platter (both $8). Kids’ pasta and chicken meals are $6 to $7. Desserts ($2 to $3) include cookies and Bundt cake.
At one end of the room you’ll see a zany pipe organ that has not been played in a number of years. There is limited seating just outside the doors if you’d prefer to dine al fresco.
