It’s easy to spend more on gifts and souvenirs than on admission. The standard, all-American souvenirs (T-shirts and the like) are priced slightly higher than their off-park equivalents, though some of them are very nicely designed. More upscale clothing, with the Universal logo displayed very discreetly, is sometimes available. When it is, it tends to be expensive but well made.
Rather than lug purchases with you, take advantage of Universal's package pickup service. Most shops will be happy to send your purchases to the It's A Wrap shop, near the front entrance, where you can pick them up on the way out. Or you can simply save all your shopping for the end of your visit and stop into the Universal Studios Store while the rest of the crowd is rushing to the gate at closing time. This shop has a good, although not complete, selection of merchandise from virtually every other shop in the park. You can also shop online at UniversalOrlando.com.
Another option is to visit the Universal outlet store in the nearby Festival Bay Mall on International Drive. They offer a selection of discontinued and discounted Universal merchandise, and rumor has it they sometimes carry items that are still currently on sale in the parks. All of Universal Studios Florida's shops will be touched on later.
