There’s only one real restaurant in World Expo, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of places to get something to eat. Kiosks pop up seasonally as the weather and the crowds dictate and there are some permanent outdoor refreshment stands in the broad plaza outside the Men In Black building.
International Food
and Film Festival
What:
A multicultural cafeteria
Where: On Exposition Boulevard, near the Animal Actors stage
Price Range: $ - $$
This is as fancy as it gets in World Expo. This large, loud cafeteria-style food emporium is divided into sections by cuisine. You can choose among Italian, American, Asian, or Ice Cream (my nationality). Entrees range from $7 to about $10, and the food is a notch or two above typical fast-food quality. Salads ($8) and desserts ($3 to $4) are listed separately and are available at any of the counters. At the walk-up ice cream counter, which is located outside near the entrance to the restaurant, prices start at $4 and go up to about $6 for a brownie sundae. Be aware that some sections may be closed when you visit. Only soft drinks are served here.
Video monitors scattered around the large seating area plug Universal films. On the walls are posters advertising movies, some of them in their overseas, retitled versions.
