Dedicated to bringing the piercing sounds of Italians in pain
to Central Florida, the Orlando Opera offers a season of three
mainstage productions and two minor productions.
The major productions feature the heavyweights (you should excuse the term) of the opera world; Pavarotti, Domingo, and Graves have all performed here. Recent major productions include Samson et Dalila, The Barber of Seville, and La Bohème. The minor productions feature resident and studio artists. Recitals and concert performances with major artists have been discontinued but may make a comeback depending on the funding situation.
The season runs from September to May. Most performances are given in the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center mentioned earlier. Prices for tickets to individual performances range from $25 to $120; half-priced tickets are available to students with a valid ID.
