If the Lake Wales Arts Center looks like an old Spanish mission, that’s because it used to be a Catholic church. Today it is home to a smorgasbord of art exhibits, concerts, and cultural enrichment programs. A rotating series of month-long art exhibits feature group shows of abstract and figurative art, with an emphasis on Florida artists. The Masterworks Series features one-night stands by musicians from around the world, while the Entertainment Series showcases jazz and contemporary music. Local residents can become members and receive discounts and other privileges.
