The drama department of Rollins College holds forth in this lovely, 377-seat Spanish Mediterranean style theater, offering an eclectic season of modern classics, a contemporary musical, and an old farce or Shakespearean play. The season runs from August to April and ticket prices are a bargain — $17 to $19 a seat. The repertory is ambitious and the productions I have seen belie the fact that all the performers are undergraduates. There is also a Second Stage series presenting more experimental work and the occasional new play.
The Annie, as it’s known locally, also presents touring dance companies of international renown. Pilobolus and the Paul Taylor Dance Company are among the troupes it has hosted.
