Animals have always
held a fascination for us humans, especially the younger members
of our species. o it’s hardly surprising that in a tourist-saturated area like Orlando, you’d find a number of attractions built around this ancient allure. The attractions I describe in this chapter run the gamut from a true zoological park, to roadside attractions, to Gatorland clones, to conservation and preservation efforts; what they have in common, of course, is animals even though the context may differ from place to place. Other animal-themed attractions such as SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens, and Gatorland are described in earlier chapters.
