Do It! - Climbing - Aiguille Rock Climbing Center

Central Florida is pretty flat, but if you get an itch to scale a sheer cliff face there’s a place just north of Orlando that can accommodate you.

Aiguille Rock Climbing Center
999 Charles Street, Longwood 32750
(407) 332-1430
www.aiguille.com

Cost: Adults $15, students with ID $10.75, bouldering only $8.25, equipment rentals extra
Hours: Monday to Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Sunday noon to 7:00 p.m.
Location: From I-4 Exit 94 drive east on SR 434 for 3 miles, then right on Ronald Reagan, right on Marvin, and right on Charles.

Located in a spacious former warehouse, Aiguille offer 25 rope stations on cliff faces of up to 36 feet in height, studded with colorful hand holds and with plenty of challenging overhangs. You can boulder (climb up to 11 feet off the ground) by yourself, but if you want to go higher you’ll need a belayer to hold your support rope. If you don’t have a buddy along, you can hire a staffer for this chore for $25 an hour, but only with two weeks notice. There’s plenty of room for non-climbers to relax and watch the show, which can be pretty entertaining. If you get inspired to give it a try, lessons are offered.

Nearby: Sanford Orlando Kennel Club.
