If water skiing is your thing, then you might find a visit to this museum rewarding. Here you can gawk at the first ever pair of water skis, which dates back to 1922 and to the “father” of water skiing, Ralph Samuelson. There are also displays of antique outboard motors, water skis, and memorabilia of all sorts, with an accent on trophies. The Time Line Wall illustrates key developments in the history of the sport and the library boasts over a thousand videos that you can see on request. The earliest footage, silent and in black and white, dates from 1939.
Nearby: Fantasy of Flight, Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, Polk Museum of Art.
