This is Busch Gardens’ most zoo-like themed area. To the east, the plains of the Serengeti stretch as far as the eye can see. On the other side are a string of animal exhibits ranging from the merely interesting to the truly wondrous. In addition to those described below, there are displays of Aldabra tortoises, Asian elephants and dromedary camels, with occasional Meet The Keeper and Animal Encounter sessions. The Trans-Veldt Railroad (described in the Stanleyville section, above) stops right in the middle. The showpiece of Nairobi, however, is the Rhino Rally attraction, which is part African animal encounter and part thrill ride.
