Type: Water ride
Time: About 2 minutes
Kelly says: The last drop is a doozy
This is a fairly ordinary log flume ride, especially when compared to more recent variations on the theme. On the other hand, it is one of the longest in the nation, they say.
The car in which you ride is a log-shaped contraption with two seating areas scooped out of it. Each car holds four people, adults or children. However, when the lines aren’t too long you can ride two to a car.
Your log rumbles along at a moderate pace in a water-filled flume, takes a few turns, and then climbs slowly to a modest height. The first small drop is merely preparation for the finale, a slow ride up yet another steep grade and an exhilarating drop to the bottom in full view of the passing crowds. Like all water rides, this one has a warning about getting wet, but the cars, with their scooped out fronts, seem designed to direct the wave generated by the final splashdown away from the passengers. It’s unlikely that you’ll get seriously soaked on this one..
