Busch Gardens Africa maintains a cadre of “Animal Ambassadors,” a team of smaller critters who make public appearances around the park, at nearby schools, and even on television. The senior ambassador, Harry, a two-toed sloth has appeared on the major late-night talk shows. The ambassadors’ job is to foster greater awareness of the animal kingdom and mankind’s responsibility for protecting it. This is where they live between gigs.
A visit here is most entertaining when there is a member of the education staff on hand to answer questions and maybe even help you pet a flamingo.
